Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 23 October 2026
These Terms and Conditions explain how Bring Back To Life provides property maintenance, handyman, repair, refurbishment and improvement services.
Please read them before confirming a booking. We will provide job-specific details, including the agreed work, price, payment arrangements and expected schedule, before work begins.
Nothing in these terms removes or limits any consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.
1. About Our Services
Bring Back To Life provides property-related services that may include:
- Handyman services and general repairs.
- Property maintenance.
- Painting and decorating.
- Interior improvements and refurbishment.
- Building work and agreed property alterations.
- Driveway, patio, garden and outdoor improvements.
- Other property-related work agreed with the customer.
The exact services available depend on the nature, location and requirements of each job. Some work may require specialist contractors, permissions, approvals or other arrangements before it can proceed.
2. Quotations and Estimates
We may provide a quotation or estimate after discussing the job, reviewing photographs or visiting the property.
A quotation sets out the agreed price for the described work, subject to the assumptions, exclusions and conditions stated in it.
An estimate is an approximate cost and may change if the work required differs from the information originally provided.
Our quotation will explain, where relevant:
- The work included.
- The price and any applicable taxes.
- Whether materials, labour, waste removal and other costs are included.
- Any exclusions or assumptions.
- The proposed start date or schedule, where known.
- The deposit and payment arrangements.
If we discover hidden damage, unexpected conditions or additional work is needed, we will explain the issue and discuss the price and options with you before carrying out chargeable extra work, except where immediate action is reasonably necessary to address an urgent safety risk and it is lawful to proceed.
A quotation is not a confirmed booking until we have accepted the job and agreed the relevant details with you in writing.
3. Booking and Confirmation
A booking is confirmed when both parties have agreed the work and price, and any stated booking requirements have been met.
Depending on the job, confirmation may be provided by email, written quotation, message or another written record.
Any deposit, advance payment, start date or other condition will be stated before you commit to the work.
We will make reasonable efforts to attend at the agreed time. Start dates and completion dates are estimates unless we have expressly agreed that a date is binding.
4. Deposits and Advance Payments
Some jobs require a deposit or advance payment to secure a booking, purchase materials, arrange labour or cover other agreed initial costs.
The amount of the deposit will be stated in your quotation or booking confirmation. It may be a fixed amount or an agreed percentage of the total price, depending on the size and requirements of the job.
Before paying a deposit, you will be told:
- The amount due.
- What the deposit is intended to cover.
- When any further payments are due.
- How the remaining balance will be calculated.
- What happens if the booking is cancelled or the work cannot proceed.
A deposit will be credited towards the total price unless the written agreement clearly states another lawful arrangement.
Deposits are not automatically non-refundable. If a booking is cancelled, any amount retained or refunded will depend on the contract, applicable cancellation rights, work already carried out, materials or services properly committed to, and any reasonable losses that the law allows us to recover.
We will not charge a cancellation fee or retain a deposit where doing so would breach your legal rights.
5. Payments and Invoices
The payment schedule will be confirmed in writing before work begins.
Depending on the job, payment may be due:
- As an agreed deposit before work starts.
- In instalments at agreed project stages.
- When specified milestones are completed.
- On completion of the work.
- At another time agreed in writing.
Your quotation or invoice will state the amount due and the payment deadline.
Unless a different arrangement is agreed in writing, the final balance is payable when the agreed work has been completed and the invoice has been issued.
For larger projects, we may agree staged payments linked to progress. The stages, amounts and due dates must be agreed in advance.
We will explain any additional charges before the relevant work is authorised. Do not assume that materials, parking, waste removal, specialist services or other costs are included unless the quotation says so.
If you have a concern about an invoice, please contact us promptly and explain which item you dispute. This does not remove your obligation to pay any amount that is properly due and undisputed.
6. Late Payments
Please pay invoices by the stated due date.
If payment is overdue, we may contact you to request payment and agree a resolution.
Any interest, recovery costs or other charges for late payment will only be applied where there is a lawful basis to do so, and where applicable they will be reasonable and properly notified.
We will not impose unfair or unlawful charges.
7. Changes and Additional Work
If you ask us to change the agreed work, or if additional work becomes necessary, we will explain any impact on the price and schedule.
We will seek your agreement before carrying out chargeable additional work.
Changes may require a revised quotation, written variation or updated payment schedule. Work outside the agreed scope is not automatically included in the original price.
If unexpected damage or a safety issue is discovered, we may need to pause the affected work while we discuss the options with you.
8. Customer Responsibilities
To help the work proceed safely and efficiently, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the property and requested work.
- Ensure we have safe and reasonable access at the agreed time.
- Arrange any necessary permission for us to enter or work at the property.
- Secure pets and keep children and other occupants away from work areas.
- Remove or protect personal belongings where reasonably necessary.
- Tell us about known hazards, defects or access restrictions.
- Make agreed payments when they are due.
- Obtain any permissions that you have agreed to arrange, such as landlord, freeholder or planning permission.
If access is unavailable, the site is unsafe or the job cannot proceed for reasons outside our reasonable control, we will discuss the next steps with you. Any additional costs or rearrangement charges must be reasonable, explained and consistent with your legal rights.
9. Materials and Waste
The quotation will state whether materials, delivery, disposal and waste removal are included.
Where we supply materials, we will select materials appropriate to the agreed work unless a particular product or specification has been agreed.
If you supply materials or products, you are responsible for ensuring they are suitable and available when required. We will let you know if they appear unsuitable for the intended work.
Additional materials or waste-removal costs will be discussed with you before they are incurred wherever reasonably possible.
10. Existing Conditions and Hidden Problems
Properties may contain hidden defects or conditions that cannot reasonably be identified before work starts. These may include concealed leaks, damp, rot, damaged wiring, structural problems or unsuitable existing materials.
If we discover a problem that affects the agreed work, we will explain it and discuss any necessary additional work, cost or delay before proceeding.
We cannot guarantee that unrelated or concealed defects will be discovered during ordinary maintenance or repair work. Any inspection or assessment is limited to the scope of the service agreed.
Nothing in this section excludes responsibility for work we carry out negligently or limits your statutory rights.
11. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Consumer Rights
Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or change a booking.
We understand that plans can change. We will discuss reasonable alternatives where possible.
For cancellations, we will consider the agreed terms, the notice given, work already completed, materials or services already properly committed to, and any applicable legal rights. Any cancellation charge must be fair and proportionate to the circumstances and legally recoverable.
If you book online, by telephone or away from our business premises, you may have a legal 14-day cancellation period. The rules depend on the type of contract and how it was agreed. Where the law applies, we will provide the required cancellation information and instructions.
If you ask us to start work during an applicable cancellation period, we may need your express request and acknowledgement of the relevant legal consequences. If you cancel after work has started, you may be required to pay a lawful amount for services already provided. Different rules may apply once a service has been fully performed with the required consent and acknowledgement.
We will explain these requirements before relying on them. Nothing in these terms removes a cancellation right that the law gives you.
If we need to reschedule, we will inform you as soon as reasonably possible and work with you to agree another suitable date. If we cannot provide the agreed service, we will discuss the available options and any refund due.
12. Delays and Events Outside Our Control
Work may be delayed by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, supplier delays, unavailable materials, emergencies, access restrictions or unexpected property conditions.
If a delay affects your job, we will explain the situation and provide an updated schedule where possible.
We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption. This clause does not remove any legal rights you may have if work is delayed or cannot be completed.
13. Workmanship, Complaints and Aftercare
We aim to carry out all agreed work with reasonable care and skill.
If you believe something we have done is defective or does not match the agreed work, please contact us as soon as possible and describe the issue. Photographs may help us understand the problem.
We will review the concern and discuss an appropriate next step. Where the law requires us to put a problem right, we will comply with your legal rights.
Any specific guarantee or warranty applies only if it has been expressly provided in writing. Nothing in this section reduces your statutory rights.
14. Property Damage and Liability
We will take reasonable care while working at your property.
Please tell us promptly if you believe our work has caused damage so that we can investigate.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not permit it, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.
Subject to those protections, we are not responsible for problems caused by pre-existing defects, inaccurate information supplied to us, unsuitable materials supplied by the customer or work carried out by other people, except where the law provides otherwise.
15. Photographs and Examples of Work
We may use photographs to assess a job, record its condition, document progress or help resolve a query.
We will not publish identifiable photographs of your property for marketing purposes where doing so would require your consent or another lawful basis, without first ensuring the necessary permission or lawful basis is in place.
Photographs on our website may be illustrative examples of the types of services we offer. Unless a particular project is clearly identified and verified as our own work, images should not be taken as proof of a completed customer project.
16. Privacy
We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, manage bookings, provide services, process payments and meet our legal obligations.
Please read our Privacy Policy for details about the information we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it and your data protection rights.
17. Complaints and Disputes
If you are unhappy with our service, please contact us using the details on our website. Explain the issue and, where possible, include your quotation or invoice reference.
We will review your concerns and try to resolve them fairly.
If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, you may have access to other complaint or dispute-resolution options. You may also seek independent advice about your legal rights.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.
The version that applies to a particular job will be the version agreed as part of that contract, subject to any later changes expressly agreed by both parties and any applicable law.
Any material change to an existing booking must be agreed with you where required.
19. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in the part of the United Kingdom where the relevant contract is governed. Where you are a consumer, nothing in this clause removes any mandatory protections or rights available to you under applicable law.
